ARCH-KNOWS

The need

The need is to equip monumental, archaeological and museum sites with advanced digital tools for sustainable conservation, scientific cataloguing and participatory valorisation of cultural heritage, overcoming the limitations imposed by environmental factors, degradation, information deficiencies and physical accessibility barriers.

The project

ARCH-KNOWS is an initiative aimed at creating an innovative system for the digitization and use of historical-cultural heritage. Through the integration of 3D surveys, archaeometric analysis and predictive simulations of degradation, the project creates detailed digital twins of the artifacts, enriched with multidisciplinary data. The heart of the system is a web-based platform and an interactive repository, designed to share knowledge, involve citizens and scholars, and support management and restoration. Technologies such as AR/VR and immersive storytelling make the experience accessible to people with disabilities and a wide audience, contributing to the digitization, sustainability and inclusiveness of culture.

The project is carried out in partnership with the company Istemi srl, leader of the partnership. Phoenix plays a key role in the development of the digital infrastructure, making its technological skills available for the design, implementation and maintenance of a centralized database. This system has the task of efficiently collecting, organizing and managing all the data acquired during the survey and chemical-physical analysis activities on the artifacts being studied. Thanks to its experience in software development, Phoenix takes care of the integration of the various digital components, ensuring continuity, security and accessibility to the data. The user interfaces are designed to be intuitive and usable even by non-expert users, promoting broad and transversal involvement.
